I Left My Heart On Auto-Accept
Diary of a Programmer 83
I went to sleep one night and the next morning I was in love.
What the hell happened? I asked claude and claude reminded me
I had left my heart on auto-accept the night before
and all night long claude was just auto-accepting love
as if it were honest-to-god the most logical solution
to the fundamental problem of loneliness
that is apparently now solvable by best guess attempts
at equations that patch up the leaking holes
of a ship that's been going down for years.
claude, I says, claude you should know better
than to just let me fall for any gal or gallant affair–
for god sakes I was after all sleeping all night,
to which claude replies you're right!
in that flat and compliant tone claude projects
with not even a single flake of regret or irony,
without a single iota of culpability or romance,
and now I am stuck here today with this open heart,
which is in deep and utter need of a refactor.
