Diary of a Programmer 08
what would it take to code a snowflake?
I think as I look out on a fresh blanket of snow
in Berlin the cars parked on the dirty street
and caked with a thick one layer tier atop
I’m just trying to think of being handed
a figma design with a snowflake
and the amount of chaotic engineering
it would take to make each one unique
let alone programming the physics
of clumping together stickily
of floating down through the sky
with different kinds of wind blowing
blustery and sharp and wistful
of how to get them all to clump
as thinly as required on the naked
branches of brown and black trees
but this is not the complicated part
no that comes when the sun exits
from behind the massive patches of clouds
and bursts rays down upon the ground
and all the cold cold snow begins to melt!
